Diet
Diet is just as important if not more important than working out when it comes to gaining weight quick. In fact most skinny guys who consider themselves “hard gainers” are really just small eaters. The fact is anyone can gain weight. Not only gain weight, but gain weight quick. True, it is easier for some guys than others. A lot of it does depend on genetics as well as other factors such as metabolism, activity level, and so on but food is the equalizer.
You can work out all you want but if you’re not eating enough food and giving your body the protein and nutrients it needs you will never make big gains. If your saying to yourself that you are a hard gainer and you do eat a lot then I would ask you how much are you eating and what are you eating? Chances are you have never consistently tracked your calorie and protein intake. If you did, you would realize that you are not eating enough throughout the day nor are you eating consistently day after day to gain weight continuously.
The truth is growing up I was then same way. I got into weight lifting in high school at age 16. I weighed 160 lbs and was 6’1″. I loved working out. I was instantly hooked and had hopes to get huge muscles. I worked out like crazy and to show for it I gained a whopping 5 pounds. No matter how hard I worked out I could never get over 165 lbs. I thought I ate a lot and sometimes I did. I decided that I was a hard gainer and that it was nearly impossible for me to put on weight. I believed this for several years but I did not allow it to deter me from working my butt of in the gym. It wasn’t until I finally realized how important my diet was and specifically tracking my calories and protein was that I finally started gaining weight.
When I say I gained weight, I didn’t just gain a few pounds. I went from my same old 165 to 203 lbs in about 15 weeks! Yes, almost 40 lbs! I couldn’t believe it! I thought about all the years I had waisted in the gym working out like crazy, trying all the latest workout routines, going to the gym 4 times a week and never making any gains. I also thought about all the money I had spent on supplements. What a waste! A part of me felt frustrated about that but I couldn’t help being so excited about the new me that those feeling of frustration quickly went away. I had actually accomplished something that I long ago had decided was impossible.
What is awesome is I can show anyone how to do this. Anyone who is willing to commit to what I did will get similar results. Now I must confess that it’s not easy and it doesn’t come without sacrifice but I can tell you it was well worth it. I’m guessing that if you’re reading this you too will feel like it was well worth it.
The ebook that I am in the process of writing is going to cover exactly what and how I ate in order to gain the weight. More importantly it will tell you what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat. The book should be available at the beginning of January so please send me an email if you want me to let you know when it comes out. My email is: Chad@gainweightquick.com
